The department is revising rules to allow children up to 20 hours of outpatient therapy per year, including family therapy visits. In addition, licensed mental health professionals will be allowed to provide the therapy. Currently, children are allowed up to 12 hours of outpatient therapy per year provided by a psychiatrist.
