OLYMPIA -- The suite of Department of Social and Health Services offices currently located at 521 East Mountain View, Avenue in Ellensburg will move to temporary locations on May 1.

The temporary location for the Economic Service Administration's Community Services Division, which provides cash and food benefit assistance, WorkFirst and family planning nursing services, is the former Liquor Control Board Retail store at 203 West 7th Avenue.

The temporary location for services provided by the Children's Administration, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Aging and Disability Administration’s Home and Community Services and Developmental Disability services is the former Elmview Developmental Disability Group Home at 220 East Helena.

Later this summer, all the offices will have a permanent location in a newly refurbished building at 100 East Jackson Avenue. The sale of its current building and unanticipated delays in completing construction on the new one required DSHS to relocate in temporary offices.

There is a possibility on Tuesday, April 29 that phone service may be interrupted for a few hours during the transition. Anyone unable to reach staff on Tuesday can call the following, toll-free numbers.
