LAKEWOOD -- On Thursday, April 17, Western State Hospital (WSH) will host a Recovery Fair for people who want to learn more about mental health recovery services and the hospital itself.

The fair is sponsored by the hospital and Pierce College Patient and Family Education Services. It will be held in the hospital’s Activities Building 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hospital patients, family members, providers, and consumers are invited to attend to learn about the Lakewood hospital and other local community resources that can assist in the recovery process.

"It is thrilling to be a part of this Recovery Fair," said Andrew J. Phillips, chief executive officer of WSH. "This is just one example of WSH's commitment to recovery-oriented mental health services."

There will be food, entertainment, art displays and door prizes. Jonathan Beard, a nationally-known consumer advocate and authority on recovery principles, will have a "booth" at the fair, as well as vendors offering recovery resources.
