This chapter explains chemical dependency treatment services available through public assistance.

CLARIFYING INFORMATION

This category contains the rules for program services and determining client eligibility for:

  1. The alcohol / drug Detoxification program; and

  2. The Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act (ADATSA) program.  The ADATSA legislation established both a program of public assistance and a fund source to provide treatment services for people incapacitated due to alcohol or drug addiction. The ADATSA public assistance program is divided into two subprograms:

    1. Treatment, which provides funding to pay for

      1. A possible living allowance while participating in outpatient treatment,

      2. Medical assistance, and

      3. Treatment services

    2. Shelter, which provides funding to pay for

      1. A monthly cash benefit, and

      2. Medical assistance

  3. This category also provides information on the access to chemical dependency treatment services for recipients of other public assistance programs and low-income clients who do not receive public assistance.
