IMD Child Receiving SSI

An IMD child who has begun receiving SSI should be opened on medical assistance program type D and medical coverage group L01.

 


Overview of Institution for Mental Disease (IMD) Program

See WAC 388-513-1315 .

The IMD program is for clients in Western and Eastern State Hospitals who have been admitted for treatment under the Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA).

To get the correct program and medical coverage group for an IMD client, in screening:

  • On the (KIND) choose Financial Assistance;

  • On the (CIRC) enter [Y] in the Sel field next to Institution for Mentally Diseased and [Y] in the Sel field next to Blind or Disabled depending on the client's situation.

This information generates the appropriate program on the (INCH).

On the (INCH) check the program code, program type, and medical coverage group information to make sure you see the following:

For a person under the age of 21:

Program Code = GI
Program Type Code = K
Medical Coverage Group = I01

For a person receiving or eligible for SSI or SSI related medical & is 65 or older:

Program Code = GI
Program Type Code = A
Medical Coverage Group = I01

Make sure the following fields are coded correctly in interview:

(DEM1)  Living Arngmt = IM
(DEM2)  Dis / Incp Type = Varies
(INST)  Type = IM
(INST)  Level of Care = D
(INST)  LTC Rate / State = Varies
