Mission Statement

The Infant Toddler Early Intervention Program will work with Tribes, state agencies, and local communities to assure that all eligible infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families in Washington State have access to individualized, quality early intervention services in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C.
In order to accomplish this mission we will:

Provide information about IDEA, Part C to the general public and technical assistance to Tribes, providers, and agencies for full and effective statewide implementation;

Provide support and training to Tribes, local service providers, and agencies in order to enhance capacity to provide services that are family centered, community based, and culturally relevant;

Ensure that systematic outreach and education are available to families of infants and toddlers with disabilities in order to assist them in accessing early intervention services, assuring that participation is voluntary, and acknowledging the unique characteristics of each family;

Ensure that services are provided in a manner that is responsive and timely; and

Provide leadership in the identification of issues affecting infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families by participating in related state, Tribal, and local activities and data collection.
