2007 Heart Gallery

Welcome to the Washington State Heart Gallery.

Through visiting the Heart Gallery, adoptive parents have made room in their families for a child who needs them. New foster parents have learned to help children who need a place to call home. Adult mentors have offered friendship and guidance to teenagers. And generous volunteers have stepped forward to ask how they can help a senior citizen or someone with a disability.

Their inspiring stories are captured in this year's Heart Gallery portraits.

Since the first Heart Gallery exhibit in 2004, many children and adults have experienced changes in their lives:

  • At least 116 new families asked to become adoptive parents
  • 26 of the 48 children in need of adoption have been placed into adoptive homes
  • At least 38 new families asked to become foster families
  • At least 49 people asked to become mentors for teens
  • At least 33 people asked to volunteer with adults with disabilities or seniors

The Heart Gallery has received over 168,000 visits to the virtual Heart Gallery. The Heart Gallery would not have been possible without the talents of the project photographers and generous contributions of our project sponsors. Come visit the Heart Gallery or view online.

Come learn how you can be part of the picture.
