Program Access & Support

Confidentiality

All information you provide to DVR is kept confidential. Disclosure of information occurs only with your written consent. Additional specific consent from you is required to release any information pertaining to: diagnosis or treatment for substance abuse;or testing, diagnosis or treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; diagnosis or treatment for HIV/AIDS.

There are a few exceptions where information may be released without your prior consent. These are situations involving administrative or legal procedures. Your consent is required during these situations if it involves the release of information pertaining to substance abuse, sexually transmitted diseases or HIV/AIDS.

Non-Discrimination

It is the policy of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation that no person shall be subjected to discrimination by DVR or its contractors because of race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, creed, marital status, status as a disabled veteran or Vietnam Era veteran or based on the presence of any physical, mental or sensory disability.

This policy is consistent with Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended in 1972, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Age Discrimination Act of 1967, Executive Order 11246 as amended by Executive Order 11375, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, Governor’s Executive Order 93-07, and the Washington State Law Against Discrimination, Chapter 49.60 RCW.
