TARGET Update for March 2006

Update Archives

Changes to TARGET Screens and Forms

The TARGET application and related DSHS input forms have been updated to include the addition of a new Agency Support Activity type of “Case Consultation” and a new Contract type of “Intensive Case Management Project”.  The later of these new choices, the new Contract type, is limited to specific agencies in two regions and is only to be used by participating agencies as directed by their DASA program manager.

The addition of Agency Support Activity Contract type of “CA Out Station” can now be used to capture work done by chemical dependency professionals located in Children’s Administration offices located throughout the state.  “CSO Out Station” has also been added for reporting similar activities that occur at the Community Service Offices.  Appropriate memos of instruction are being sent to the field to provide guidance on the reporting details by DASA program management staff.

The Client and Agency Support Activity type of “Assessment and Referral” has been changed to “Screening and Referral” to better describe the actual work effort.

A new Treatment Activity type of “Patch Analysis” has been added.  Formerly defined under “Urinalysis Sample”, this title further defines the drug testing activity.

The form, DSHS 04-416, Assessment/Admission Setup (page 8, fields 17, 18, 19, & 20) – reflect additions to Court Ordered fields established last year by legislative mandate.  Type of Court Ordered; CD, MH, Both or None and if under DOC Supervision; Yes or No require answers.  Types and dates of consent are also required dependent upon those previous answers.

The acronym WASBIRT has been removed from the label on the C8 - Client Support Activities List report title.  This report is applicable to all agencies and not limited to WASBIRT as previously implied.

For additional Hot Fixes and programming details review the New Changes Made in the Last 30 Days box of your TARGET2000 Agency Home Page.

Forms are available to be downloaded from the DSHS Web site at: http://www1.dshs.wa.gov/msa/forms/eforms.html

Data Entry Statistics for February 2006

Over last month nearly five hundred (458) TARGET customers logged into the application nearly every day of the entire month – we had over eleven thousand (11,132) login’s!

About four thousand – five hundred (4,468) Assessments were added, or updated (160 each day), approximately seven thousand – five hundred (7,454) Admissions were added, or updated (266 each day) and five thousand – four hundred and sixty-two (5,462) Discharges were entered, or updated. Almost two hundred (195) Discharges each day of the month!

The big volume, Treatment Activities, totaled over one hundred and twenty – one thousand (121,076) for the month – that’s over four thousand (4324) per day!  Client Support Activities (6,384) and Agency Support Activities (7,309) round out the Activities totals.

ATR is “ramping” up with four hundred and sixteen (416) Recovery Plans, six thousand – nine hundred and forty – eight (6,948) Recovery Plan Details, and nine thousand – nine hundred and eighty – nine (9,989) ATR Services added or updated.

TARGET customers ran just over ten thousand (10,005) TARGET Reports, of which ten failed – Reports requiring too many resources will “time out” within Transact when the scope is too large.  Nearly three hundred – sixty (357) reports are generated by TARGET each and every day of the month! That’s TARGET in a “nut shell” for February ’06.

Downtime

The TARGET system is typically not available the last weekend of each month from 5:00 p.m. Friday, through 8:00 a.m. Monday. The dates for this month are: March 24th thru the 27th.
