TARGET Update for January 2005

Update Archives

TARGET2000 Back-end Database Changes

DASA is currently rectifying a few back-end database inconsistencies as we work towards the development of our TARGET2000 "Mid-Tier" Module.

The changes are actually quite simple but very important - but those of you that use either Utility, Import/Export or the Data Dump feature of TARGET2000 will be interested in the following information.

During our routine scheduled maintenance on Jan 29, 2005, the following data elements will be standardized. The element "definition" as presented in the June 2002 data dictionary is correct. The definition is not changing, but the valid values are. Effective Monday, January 31, 2005 - the valid values for all the fields will be as follows:

0=No; 1=Yes; 2= any other valid choice for that data element (unknown, uncertain, in need, etc.).

The table below displays the effected elements and their CURRENT numeric code values.

data dictionary element: -1 0 1 2 3
attendance y Excused n
compliant_flag -1 0 1
current psychiatric medication unknown n y
currently receiving MH services y n in need
displays on admission y no=null
displays on assessment y no=null
domestic violence - current victim uncertain n y
domestic violence - ever been victim uncertain n y
drivers license y n
due to relapse unknown n y
living with client unknown n y
marital satisfaction y n indifferent
no show y no=null
physical health care y n in need
residential flag y no=null
uses detox short form y no=null
valid y=yes n=no

We are also changing how Client_Support_Activites are saved. TARGET2000 currently only saves a partial Admission table record associated with a Client Support Activity.  The designers of TARGET2000 created these partial records so the Client Look up routines would have 1 less table to query - we're going to change the look up routines to also query the Support_Activity_Table directly and we will be deleting and no longer collect Admissions with Admission_Type '3' -  Client Support Activity Admissions.

This information will be very important to any staff that use custom built data systems to work with TARGET2000 information. Please be sure to forward this information, just in case they misplace their TARGET2000 UPDATE.

If you have questions about this change, please contact the TARGET Helpdesk at 888-461-8898.

DOWNTIME

The TARGET system will not be available the last weekend of each month from 5:00 p.m. Friday, through 8:00a.m. Monday.  The dates for this month are: January 28th thru the 31st.
