Mentoring Initiative Evaluation

In collaboration with Mark Fulop of the National Mentoring Center, DASA developed a set of evaluation instruments that have been piloted at eight sites as part of the Childrens' Transition Initiative. These evaluation tools measure the quality of mentoring relationships and changes in youth behavior and attitudes.

In collaboration with a statewide advisory committee, DASA has developed a strategic plan for recruiting and using mentors to reach at-risk youth and model, teach, and reinforce positive behavior. The plan, which is now being implemented, includes recommendations for quality assurance, training and technical assistance, marketing and communications, resource development, and evaluation.
