Minority Advisory Committee (MAC)

MISSION STATEMENT  

Advise the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) on ways to develop programs, services and a workforce that are responsive to the needs of ethnic minorities in Washington State. Identify barriers to programs and services that confront ethnic minorities and to monitor efforts to eliminate these barriers. Serve as the voice of the minority community to the department.

How does someone get on the Committee?

The Committee is currently recruiting from around the state, looking for people who want to help to educate our community regarding sensitivity to MAC concerns. If you are interested in finding out more or would like an application sent to you please contact Esmeralda Crosson at 360-725-5831 or E-mail her at: mailto:crosses2@dshs.wa.gov

As established by direction of the Secretary, the committee shall be comprised of not more than 15 members, who shall be appointed by the Secretary. A majority of the voting members shall constitute a quorum. If you are interested in applying to be a (MAC) Minority Advisory Committee member, please complete and mail the attached application form [word].
