Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Advisory Committee (GLBT)

MISSION STATEMENT  

The mission of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Advisory Committee (GLBT) is to study, plan and advise the Department of Social and Health Services on how the agency can enhance its responsiveness to the needs of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered persons and create an accepting,supportive and safe environment for GLBT employees. In order to do so, the committee shall advise and assist the agency on a broad range of policy and program coordination issues relative to this mission.

How does someone get on the Committee?

The Committee is currently recruiting from around the state, looking for people who want to help to educate our community regarding sensitivity to GLBT concerns. If you are interested in finding out more or would like an application sent to you please contact Esmeralda Crossen at 360-725-5831 or E-mail her at: crosses2@dshs.wa.gov

As established by direction of the Secretary, the committee shall be comprised of not more than 15 members, who shall be appointed by the Secretary. A majority of the voting members shall constitute a quorum. If you are interested in applying to be a GLBT member, please complete and mail the attached application form [word].
