Advisory Board

DSHS has an advisory board with whom it consults on domestic violence perpetrator treatment standards.

The role of the advisory committee is to advise the department regarding recommended changes to the program standards and provide technical assistance on program standards, implementation, and certification and re-certification criteria.

The advisory committee represents a cross-section of the domestic violence intervention community and includes:

• Members representing the perspective of victims of domestic violence.
• Members who work for state-certified domestic violence perpetrator treatment programs.
• Members who represent the perspective of adult misdemeanant probation and Washington state courts of limited jurisdiction.
• A representative from the Department of Corrections.
• A representative from the Office of the Administrator for the courts.

Advisory committee members are appointed for two-year terms.
