Opiate Substitution Treatment (DASA)


What needs program covers:
Provision of treatment services and medication management, (methadone, etc.) to individuals addicted to opiates, such as heroin.

Who is eligible: Persons eligible for the ADATSA program, TANF, SSI or Medicaid program.
Persons/children whose family income falls in a low-income category.
Priority populations are youth, pregnant women, and IV drug users.

Income and Resource Limits: Individuals are eligible for DASA-funded services if they are recipients of public assistance grant programs, medical assistance programs, or are low-income. Low income is defined as income below 80% of the State Median Income

Program Requirements: Individuals addicted to opiates. For persons applying for treatment under the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act (ADATSA), eligibility is further restricted to those who are unemployable as a result of their alcohol or other drug addiction.

Other Requirements: None.

How to apply/get services: Recipients of public assistance/medical assistance programs access services by directly contacting opiate substitution programs or being referred from an ADATSA assessment centers. People wanting to apply for the ADATSA program must apply at the local Community Services Office (CSO) and then be referred by the ADATSA assessment center
