Involuntary Treatment (DASA)


What needs program covers:
Involuntary commitment of persons incapacitated by chemical dependency. A process, as described in RCW 70.96A.140, that allows a County Designated Chemical Dependency Specialist to investigate and evaluate facts alleging that an individual presents a likelihood of serious harm or is gravely disabled as a result of chemical dependency.

Who is eligible: Adults and/or high risk youth meeting the requirements of RCW 70.96A.140.

Income and Resource Limits: None.

Program Requirements: Eligibility under the law and willingness of family or significant others to commit to the ITA process.

Other Requirements: None.

How to apply/get services: Contact the County Designated Chemical Dependency Specialist or the County Designated Mental Health Professional in your region who will follow the involuntary treatment process.
