The Mission of the MHPAC/Legislative/Administrative Subcommittee
The mission of the Legislative Subcommittee is to coordinate
with other MHPAC Subcommittees to review and/or propose public policy and/or
practices that provides overall strategies to improve the quality of health
care by providing access, treatment, recovery, and building resiliency for
adults and/or children affected by mental illness including recommending positions
and actions on legislation, administrative code, and MHD contracts for consideration
by the MHPAC. The Legislative Subcommittee envisions for the future that recovery,
prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment for everyone with mental
illness at any stage of life is possible with effective treatment and supports
essential for living, working, learning, and participation fully in the community.
