Description:

-- Use professional and technical expertise, knowledge, skills and abilities in managing the section staff and work.  This includes assisting staff with program development, implementation, and evaluation for effectiveness and success in meeting the programs desired outcomes/goals. 

-- Use technical knowledge of medical billing payment systems, programs coverage, eligibility criteria, and program policies to assist staff in meeting the clinical needs of the Medicaid clients. 

-- Use professional expertise and technical knowledge to collaboratively and effectively communicate HRSA medical coverage benefits, objectives and requirements to contractors, providers, community members, foster parents, other DSHS divisions, and other state agencies.

-- Plan, organize, direct and manage the Family Healthcare Section by using health care/health policy knowledge, skills and expertise to direct staff, program managers and clinical nurses, in designing, developing, planning, directing and implementing their  statewide clinical programs; School Based Healthcare Services, Immunization Program, ABCD Dental Program, CSO Based Family Planning Services, TAKE CHARGE Family Planning, Maternity Support/Infant Case Management, Childcare Services and program data retrieval, analysis and reporting.

-- Serves as a section manager with staff responsibility for policy promulgation and writing statewide WAC and rules, numbered memorandums, bulletins regarding the section’s program policies. 

-- Manage the work load of the section.  Monitor, evaluate, and implement plans to improve and correct any and all deficiencies regarding the section's programs.

-- Provide consultation, advice, liaison and technical assistance on the sections programs to CA, DOH, Providers, Foster Parents, Foster Child Public Health Nurses, Contractors, DSHS Management and other Staff, Legislature, Clients, Local Coalitions, Associations, and Non-Profit Agencies.

-- Prepare and present recommendations and reports that have statewide implications regarding the programs within the section.

-- Make presentations, provide training, facilitate conferences and group meetings representing HRSA.
