Description:

FINANCIAL SERVICE SPECIALIST 1 duties include, but not limited to;

Under close supervision and on a planned, progressive assignment basis, interviews clients, analyzes written and oral information, and determines continued eligibility for financial and medical programs; determines eligibility for food stamps; assesses immediate need in emergent situations; authorizes necessary warrants, medical coupons, and food stamps; implements program changes and case closures as dictated by regulations, department policies, and changes in clients' circumstances;

FINANCIAL SERVICE SPECIALIST 2 duties include, but not limited to;

At the journey level, conducts interviews to determine or redetermine eligibility for a variety of financial, medical and food stamp programs. Processes changes in client circumstances, implements Federal and State regulations and determines the effect on the continuing eligibility of clients. The majority of work at this level involves maintaining continuing financial eligibility for public assistance recipients in the Financial Maintenance System or redetermining eligibility for Food Stamp programs.

FINANCIAL SERVICE SPECIALIST 3 duties include, but not limited to;

Conducts intensive interviews to determine eligibility for financial, medical, and food stamp benefits; analyzes written and oral information; obtains and reviews necessary data, documentation, and verification for each program of assistance as it relates to the recipients' specific circumstances; explains program requirements and services available; refers clients to both mandatory and optional services and to other agencies as required; authorizes necessary warrants, medical coupons, and food stamps; works within time frames and deadlines which are dictated by program requirements.
