dvr home -> about dvr -> working in partnership -> funding dvr services Funding for DVR ServicesFunding for DVR services is based on financial need. Before finalizing a Rehabilitation Plan, you are required to disclose information about your financial resources and liabilities. A worksheet is used to determine whether you have resources available to contribute to your Rehabilitation Plan costs. Alternate funding resources are explored and used whenever possible. While DVR offers a wide range of services, we can not pay for routine living expenses (e.g. rent, food). Your counselor will discuss this with you in detail. If you are considering an academic program, you can avoid potential delays in funding by applying for financial aid from the school(s) you are considering for attendance. DVR is required by law to have you apply for student financial aid. After you submit your financial aid application to the school, you will receive an award or denial letter. DVR must have a copy of this letter in your file before we can finalize a Rehabilitation Plan that includes academic training. Financial Aid awards must be used toward the cost of your education before DVR can consider paying any school-related costs. If you are "in default" on previous school loans you will need to make a good faith effort to clear those up before DVR can consider providing funds for any further school costs. (Your counselor will give you more details.) |
